About Raising Luminaries
Teaching kids about consent while also getting them into pants and out the door on time can feel impossible.
After discovering that families needed support beyond storytime in the Books for Littles community, Ashia Ray founded Raising Luminaries in 2017 to support neurodivergent activists who were also navigating parenting and care work.
We’re here for those pulled between community advocacy, parenting, and surviving capitalism, all while navigating executive dysfunction, neurodivergence, and mental health challenges.
If you’ve felt out of place in traditional parenting spaces, if you’ve felt like your advocacy isn’t ‘enough’ because you’re low on energy and resources while raising a family, or if you’re unsure if you belong here, that’s a good sign you’re in the right place.
